Charitable Giving

Why is it that the wealthiest clients sometimes give the least to charity?  Especially if you are paying Alternative Minimum Tax, charitable contributions may be the only way to bring down your taxes.  No, you do not get back in tax savings the full amount of your donation, however, you get the added benefit of controlling where your money is going (vs your tax dollars) and you also get the "givers gain" good feeling of knowing you are giving.
